Default How often should I run -image?

I have a copy of the GW shortcut to get into the game and another to run -image. I used the -image one a while back to make sure I wasn't missing many files in the game. If I've been actively getting back on GW when it updates, should I worry about running it again in some timely fashion, or should I just ignore it from now on?

I -image once every couple of weeks, to prevent the oh-so-regular corruption that seems to happen to it. I slacked off on it and yesterday my FPS dropped to about 12-20. -image and a few hours later it was back up to 60.

It downloads all of the game data. So no waiting when going from one area to another.

Every update. Unless you expect something like the DAW updates where you can glean information from which zones have new downloads and which zones don't.

Cool, I thought it was something like that. What exactly do you type though?

Edit: Nevermind, I found it here --> http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Command_line

I use -image after every update. Like the Op, I have a separate shortcut just for -image, so I don't have to keep editing the shortcut.

If you use it after every update, does it take a long time every time?

Couldnt you do both and just leave it? Or do you have to do it as new updates occur?

Only if there's a lot of data for that particular update. Random stuff like today's took about 10 seconds. I also do it after every update.

Mine was done by the time I finished reading the update notes, so not long. But to be fair, I run -image often, am on a broadband connection and this was a rather minor update.

Last major update(the skill split one) took minutes instead of seconds, but was still hardly noticeable.

I do it after every update to both of my account paths one after another. Simple and effective. Never had an issue with my .DAT being corrupted.

When I enter in the command window - C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\gw.exe -image
It says - C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

I do have GW installed to the default directory(?) on my computer.

Also - I'm usually pretty savvy when it comes to using computers - but how do I turn this into a shortcut?

Oh,and I did read http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Command_line

Thx

If you have a shortcut already for GW, then copy it. Right click on your new shortcut and select 'Properties'. Add " -image" (without the quotes) to the end of the shortcut target, so your target should look something like:
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

Ok your edit and you're good to go

Every time there's an update. Just run it and go make a sandwich or something, it'll be done when you get back

After every weekend build is sent if I'm playing and then again the following Monday or Tuesday. Again if I'm playing.
